As you know Administration has agreed to Local 1828's request to guarantee Chief's interviews and give first priority hiring consideration to currently laid-off members within the IAFF 7th District. This was also done by our Local in 2005 for four laid-off Spokane Local 29 members. SCFD1 plans to hire at least nine (9) FTEs immediately.
Can you please forward this message through the WSCFF, AKPFFA, PFFI, MSCPFF and IAFF 7th chain of command so that Local 1828 leadership can receive a list of any currently laid-off members. Local 1828 will forward the names we receive back to our Employer through August 30, 2013.
Any laid-off members should be advised by Union leadership to apply for these positions no later than August 30th following the same process listed on the District's website for non laid-off lateral candidates.
