We are pleased to announce the appointment of AKPFFA member Jake Bender to the Alaska Fire Standards Council. He was one of three members submitted by the AKPFFA Board for consideration to the State of Alaska Office of Boards and Commissions. He will be occupying the seat dedicated to the AKPFFA after a successful legislative effort to include the IAFF in discussions regarding state standards and certifications. He is a 14 year firefighter with the Anchorage Fire Department where he currently holds the position of Safety Officer and a member of Anchorage Local 1264. We look forward to hearing from Jake at the State Convention on the current business of the Council.
